Seraphim Angel – The First and Highest Order
The Seraphim are the highest and most powerful order of angels in the heavenly hierarchy. Their name means “burning ones,” symbolizing their intense passion and purity as they dwell closest to God’s throne. They are often described as having six wings: two to cover their faces, two to cover their feet, and two for flying—showing humility, reverence, and readiness to serve.
Seraphim are known for constantly worshiping and glorifying God, crying out, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:3). Their main role is to guard the holiness of God’s presence and help purify others to approach Him—like when one touched a burning coal to the prophet Isaiah’s lips to cleanse him.
